Wictor Initiates Its Most Important Collaboration

Wictor Family Office and the children's rights organization Maskrosbarn are entering into a partnership.

To raise awareness and support children in Sweden whose parents suffer from substance abuse, mental health issues, or expose them to violence.

"Maskrosbarn" (Dandelion Children) refers to children facing difficulties at home but can still thrive with the right support, much like a dandelion can grow through asphalt. This organization, active since 2005, works to improve children's living conditions through various initiatives such as lectures, education, and support activities like weekend and holiday camps, Thursday activities, online support, and personal contact through coaches. These efforts are particularly crucial during the summer when schools and recreational activities are closed.

Partnerships are evaluated and chosen through Wictor Family Office's charity platform, Wictor Charity. The selected initiatives reflect the values of both the owners and customers. The collaboration with Maskrosbarn is especially significant for co-founder Sara Viktorsson, whose family has been involved in similar charitable efforts focusing on children's rights. Sara's parents opened their home and acted as foster parents for many years.

"I have 13 siblings, which I am very proud of. These issues are not only close to my heart but have also shaped me as a person," says Sara Viktorsson, who, along with her sister Anna Kalén, initiated the collaboration.

Anna, a "maskrosbarn" herself, was fortunate to be surrounded by teachers who noticed that something was wrong and helped her. Inspired by these experiences, she chose an academic path and now works as a teacher in subjects such as society, religion, and geography. Anna is also the reason Wictor is launching a donation program for Maskrosbarn.

"We sat and talked about charity work one evening, and Sara told me about her vision. She wanted to create a platform to help young people in need and provide them with a meaningful life and a positive worldview. The more she talked about the ambition, the more I realized that the organization already exists," says Anna Kalén, who was already familiar with Maskrosbarn and their work.

"We help clients to help"

Philanthropy and charity can be one of life's most meaningful and rewarding commitments. When done right, it can contribute enormously to a positive change in other people's lives and our world in general. Like all serious commitments, it requires sophisticated knowledge, tools, and resources to succeed.

"We are, therefore, pleased to work together with Maskrosbarn, a well-managed organization that can help our clients and us actually achieve the impact we imagine," concludes Sara.

About the Collaboration

Wictor's vision with the project is to reduce the number of young people in harm's way. In collaboration with Maskrosbarn, they are concretely addressing the serious fact that children and young people in Sweden live in homes where at least one parent either struggles with mental health issues or has a substance abuse problem.

As they highlight the current issues, the organization is presented, providing a way to help. Besides the ongoing donation program for customers and owners, Wictor Family Office will organize various events to support Maskrosbarn.

These young people talk about what it feels like to be subjected to violence by someone closest to them. About violence and abuse within the home, where we want to believe that children are safest.
